Miles Davis and Group
One of the highlights of the 1987 Münchner Klaviersommer was a concert given by Miles Davis and Group. The great master of jazz who has always been at the heart of new and important stylistic changes over the last four decades had not been in Munich for fifteen years. His return was all the more significant because in this concert at the Philharmonie he played together with a group of young and highly talented musicians: Kenny Garrett (saxophone), Bobbie Irving (keyboards), Adam Holzman (keyboards), Joe McCreary (guitar), Darryl Jones (bass), Mino Cinelu (percussiion) and Ricky Wellman (percussion). It would be hard to achieve a more intense mixture of sounds and colours in both aural and visual terms.
